Taylor Fritz is one of the most interesting tennis players at the moment, not just
because he is talented but also because of how he is able to balance his hobbies
with his interests, high-profile job.
Taylor Fritz grew up in Southern California, spending a lot of time in a desert near
Indian Wells where the BNP Paribas Open is held once a year. What’s crazy is that
in 2022, he won that tournament, beating Rafael Nadal, one of the greatest tennis
players of all time. What was even more unbelievable was that Taylor Fritz was
injured at the time. Still, he pushed through and won. In a Netflix docuseries, Fritz commented that he believed that he could win regardless of his ankle injury. This teaches us that it is always important to have a resilient mindset.
When he was younger, his dad taught him how to play tennis. Both his parents
played professionally, and his childhood basically revolved around sport. However, he was also a regular child, who enjoyed his own hobbies and playing with his
friends. His dad told him “You’re gonna win this tournament one day.” And eventually
he did.
Something else that makes Taylor Fritz stand out is how he balances his personal
life with his career. At 19, he became a dad which shocked many people. Even though he separated from his son’s mother, and he said it wasn’t easy, he stayed close to his son. Taylor Fritz openly talks about how he always makes time for FaceTime calls, and always puts in the effort to be present, even while travelling for tennis.
Taylor Fritz also loves gaming. He’s very deep into League of Legends, a video game
played on the computer. His accounts show many games, lasting around 30 minutes.
This shows how even though he is always playing in these big tennis tournaments, he still makes time for the things he loves to do outside of work. He’s not just doing it to escape but because this competition fuels him, whether he’s on the court or online.
Now he is ranked among the top tennis players globally, Taylor Fritz represents
talent, resilience and balance. He is not just winning tennis tournaments; he’s
showing us what you can do if you just work hard enough.
