169 cm

Or five feet, five and a half inches tall is where I stand, though                                                                                                I prefer centimeters because it sounds much taller.               (169 against 5, what are the odds?)                                                                   And plus, most people can't convert  the units on the fly anyway, so it saves me the                                              raised eyebrows and occasional crude comment:

My son was 6 feet already at your age.                                                                              So short.

                                                                OK Sherlock, who asked?

And I'm not willing to explain that 169 cm is a perfectly normal, average height, but my uncle says that I'm not supposed to be average, points out that all my friends and cousins are taller, so that makes me below average. He says even my younger brother is, so it isn't genes, and something is probably wrong with me. It's too bad that I'm a boy so I can't wear heels.

Though I couldn't care less (short king!)                                         except for imagining that                                                     I'll be shorter than my wife.                           Oh bother.

I still have 5 years. I'm not an adult yet, but I                                    have a feeling I've reached the peak

It doesn't really matter, but then it does,                            because it is a measurement                                                               of me, my being, my youth:

the first question people askto judge my success.
